Goodwill Haul: 4 Spring Transition Staples for $36 (March Edit)
Saturday morning Goodwill run did NOT disappoint this week. I spent $36.46 total and walked out with 4 pieces, including a pair of Sam Edelman suede loafers that literally look like they've never touched pavement. They retail for $150. I paid $9.99. I'm still processing it.
It's March 1st, so we are officially in that weird "is it spring or is it still winter" phase. So I went in with a mission: find pieces that can layer right now but breathe when it finally gets warm. Here's exactly what I scored.
The Finds
1. Suede Loafers
- Brand: Sam Edelman
- Paid: $9.99 | Retail: ~$150 | Condition: Basically new
These are doing all the heavy lifting for my spring workwear. They have that expensive-looking hardware on top, and the suede is flawless.
2. 100% Linen Oversized Button-Down
- Brand: Banana Republic
- Paid: $5.99 | Retail: ~$80 | Condition: Perfect
If you take one piece of advice from me: never buy new linen if you don't have to. The thrift store is packed with it. This one is that perfect crisp white, and it’s oversized enough to wear as a light jacket over a tank top right now.
3. High-Waisted Wide-Leg Trousers
- Brand: Ann Taylor
- Paid: $7.49 | Retail: ~$109 | Condition: Great (just needed an iron)
You know how much I love a good trouser to make a cheap tank look expensive. The drape on these is stupid good. They're a lightweight wool blend, perfect for this in-between weather.
4. Woven Leather Crossbody Bag
- Brand: Fossil (Vintage)
- Paid: $12.99 | Retail: ~$150+ | Condition: Vintage worn-in perfection
I almost left this behind because the strap was tangled, but girl. The leather is so soft, and woven bags are everywhere right now for spring. It holds my phone, keys, and exactly three lip glosses.
The Math
Total Spent: $36.46
Estimated Retail Value: ~$489
Savings: 92%
Thrift Tips From This Trip
What I learned this week: Check the shoes first, not last. Good shoes get snatched up within an hour of being put out. I found those loafers right at 9:15 AM. By 10 AM, that aisle was picked clean.
How I'll Style These
Honestly, I'm wearing three of these pieces tomorrow. The linen button-down left open over a black Target A New Day tank ($8), the wide-leg trousers, and the Sam Edelman loafers. That's a $21.48 outfit that looks like I make six figures. I do not.
Drop your best Goodwill finds from this weekend in the comments. I need to know I'm not the only one who hit the jackpot.
